Investigations of fungal pathogens of Douglas-fir on various provenance plots
Lísková, Aneta ; Pešková, Vítězslava (advisor) ; Vachová, Jana (referee)
The bachelor thesis evaluates the incidence of fungal pathogens due to various provenance of Pseudotsuga menziesii Mirbel, Franco. The research was conducted on the provenance area Jizbice - LS Vlašim. In this area, the presence of fungus of the genus Armillaria was evaluated. By using standard phytopathological methods, samples of needles and offshoots were taken, and the occurrence of the various needle blight species was investigated. In the field the preliminary determination and quantification of the occurrence of fungus pathogens infestation were implemented. Consequently, the microscope method was used for the fungal species spectrum completion and specification in the laboratory. The fungus Rhabdocline pseudotsugae was discovered. The fungus Rhizosphaera genus was discovered on some needles from the researched provenances. The occurrence of the Armillaria spp. was not confirmed. It was determined, that it highly depends on the provenance of the infested tree. The most resistant provenance was Nimkish (1025), located in the north part of the Vancouver island, British Columbia. The least resistant provenance, in terms of defoliation, was provenance Merritt (1028) from British Columbia. Correspondence analysis results showed that the provenance of 1010 and 1028 showed the highest number of individuals and can be expected to have better resistance to abiotic and biotic effects of harmful factors.
Pseudotsuga menziesii, the new potential invasive species in the České Švýcarsko National Park?
DUDÍKOVÁ, Tereza
Pseudotsuga menziesii, naturalized conifer from the North America, has been planted in the area of the present-day České Švýcarsko National Park (Czech Republic) from 19th century. These surveys concentrate on the question of environmental preferences of seedlings and saplings of Pseudotsuga, and characterize potential distance distribution of this tree. In conclusion, Pseudotsuga is still only naturalized species, but danger of becoming to be invasive is very high.
Pseudotsuga menziesii- nepůvodní dřevina v BR a CHKO Třeboňsko
KAŠPAROVÁ, Iva
At the area of CHKO Trebonsko are known three localities with major appearance of Coast Douglas-fir in four groups. First two groups appear in forest ground of St. Barbora. In the first group are 18 and in the second group 23 individuals. These groups appear in the forest stand no. 408 B 13 (Cisarska group) and in the forest stand no. 457 C 12a (in a fencing at Majdalena). Surveying of these groups took place in 2006 by Mrs. Balounova and Mr. Smahel. Two odd groups appear near by Stankovsky pond and they consist of 13 and 31 individuals. They appear in the forest stand no. 245 C 11 at the area of so-called {\clqq}Stankovske woods`` between Stankov and Mirochov villages, at intersection Rovenska way and the way which leads from Mirochov to Stankov. In a neighbourhood of examined vegetation occurs USES element, it is a regional importance biocenter {--} Elk{\crq}s moors reserve at Mirochov which is also declared as {\clqq}Ramsar{\crq}s area of Trebon lowland moors``.
